Kaizen is a rapid team based approach to continuous improvement. The advantage of Kaizen is that it promotes buy-in by the team members right from the start. This ensures that shop floor workers promote acceptance of the changes straight away. Because the team is so actively involved in making the changes, they will exert pressure on to their fellow workers to ensure sustainment.

By using Kaizen methodology, you can utilise tools such as SMED (single minute exchange of dies) to improve changeover times. Reduction of the 7 wastes is also driven through the Kaizen process.
